Red Nation Film Festival — Los Angeles' Premiere Native American Film Festival

Featured Artists

MONTE YELLOW BIRD

Red Nation Film Festival 2012 is honored to have MONTE YELLOW BIRD as our featured artist this year.

The latest ledger for “Red Nation Film Festival” in Los Angeles Ca. 2012. The piece is called “Look at the Birdie” with the theme of the film festival, again very symbolic with color and design. The chiefs sitting both young and old overlooking this event are witnessing change, collected by a man-made machine. the Yellow bird landing on the photographers finger is the witness of the power of the great mystery and irony in the phrase “watch the birdie”. said just before the photograph is taken. The puppies are symbolic for my tribe and the sacrifice that is made to poverty and sickness on behalf of the people. there is so much more to the interpretation of this piece, but it is a wonderful opportunity to be a part of the Red Nation Film Festival and the wonderful work that Joanelle Romero is doing. I was fortunate to work with her on the movie ” A GIRL CALLED HATTER FOX”
